Three generations in, we have learned that the basics matter, whether it is a weekly service route or the page you are reading now. This statement explains how we build the site, the reader tools we offer, where we still fall short, and how to tell us when something is hard to use.
Our commitment to access
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1, at Level AA. We treat that as an ongoing target rather than a one time checkbox, and we review the site as we add pages and features so new content holds the same standard.
How we build for access
Accessibility starts in the code, not in an add on. Across the site we use:
- Semantic structure and clear landmark regions, so assistive technology can make sense of each page.
- Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus outline and a skip to content link at the top of every page.
- Text and interface contrast chosen to meet AA, so color is never the only way we signal something.
- Descriptive alternative text on images that carry meaning, and quiet markup for images that are purely decorative.
- Respect for your system reduce motion setting, so animation calms down when you ask it to.
Accessibility tools on this site
Look for the accessibility button in the bottom corner of any page. It opens a small panel where you can turn on:
- Larger text Bumps up the type size across the site.
- High contrast Switches to a black on white palette.
- Underline links Adds an underline to every link.
- Readable spacing Opens up line height and word spacing.
- Pause motion Stops the subtle animations and reveals.
Your choices are saved on this device for your next visit. These controls are a convenience that sits on top of the accessible design, not a replacement for it.
Known limitations
Some content we embed from other companies, such as maps or video, may not fully meet our standards because we do not control how it is built. We work to keep these to a minimum and to offer another way to get the same information. If a piece of the site blocks you, please reach out and we will help.
